The School has 6 undergraduate majors: Environmental Engineering, Biological Engineering, and Applied Chemistry, Food Science and Engineering, Food Quality and Safety, and Environmental Ecological Engineering, in which, the major of environmental engineering was approved as the characteristic and predominant major construction item of colleges and universities in the "13th Five-Year Plan" of Zhejiang Province in 2017, and selected as a first-class major in Zhejiang Province in 2019. The environmental science and engineering was approved as a first-class discipline (B) in the "13th Five-Year Plan" of Zhejiang Province. This School centers on the development of environmental health and ecological safety, environmental monitoring and evaluation, green technology and resource utilization. And the field of resources and environment has been identified by the university as one of the education directions for the application of the master’s degree programme. The School also hasan analysis and testing technology training institution recognized by the National Analysis and Testing Personnel Ability Training Committee (Zhejiang Shuren University National Training Center for Analysis Technology), which iscurrently the only pilot organization of universities in the country, and also the analysis and testing technology training base of Large-scale Scientific Instrument Collaboration and Sharing Platform of Zhejiang Province.In addition, the School owns the platforms such as the Country and Region Research Center of the Ministry of Education, Zhejiang International Cooperation Base, and Zhejiang Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center.

At present, the School has 58 faculty members, including 16 teachers with senior titles and 24 with associate senior titles. The proportion of full-time teachers with doctoral degree reaches 45%, and the proportion of internationalization is 25%. The School has 3 first-level talents of the “151 Talent Program” and top young talents of the “Ten Thousand Talents Program” of Zhejiang Province, 4 middle-aged and young academic leaders of Zhejiang Province, 2 leading talents of Zhejiang colleges and universities, and 1 person with the title of “Thousand Good Party Branch Secretaries” in Zhejiang Province in the new era, 1 person with the title of “Good Responsible Party Branch Secretaries” in Zhejiang Province, and 2 Excellent Teachers of Zhejiang Province, 1 Woman Pace-setter of Zhejiang Province, 1 Advanced Individual of Teacher Ethics in Zhejiang Province, and 1 Advanced Individual of "Balancing Family and Career” in the Education System of Zhejiang Province. Now there are more than 1,600 students in the School.

The School actively promotes the reform of the "3+1" advanced application-oriented talent training model that combines study with work, and carries out professional practice in many leading listed companies such asFocused Photonicsand AstraZeneca, to cultivate the applied talents with industries, enterprises, and foreign universities. In the past five years, students have published 75 papers as the first authors, won a total of 110 awards in provincial class-A and above academic competitions, and got the approval of 35 national undergraduate entrepreneurship and innovation projects and 36 provincial undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship projects. The continuing education rate of postgraduate is about 20%, far exceeding the provincial average.
