Formerly known as the School of Entrepreneurship founded in 2015, the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship adopts the model of "virtual school, and physical operation" to explore the “whole chain” talent cultivation and coordination mechanism of innovation and entrepreneurship. In January 2021, according to the university’s overall planning in the “Fourteen Five-Year Plan” period, the School of Entrepreneurship was changed to be the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship with independent organizational system.
The School insists on building a "dual-wheel linkage" motivation mechanism for innovation and entrepreneurship education that complements basic and professional entrepreneurship education, and vigorously achieves the combination of innovation and entrepreneurship practices that include on-campus incubation, off-campus base linkage, industry school, and student communities, which is the collaborative mechanism of “four-platform cooperation”. And it forms the cultivation mechanism of the “five-party integration” of the ecological education chain of classroom teaching, independent learning, actual entrepreneurship training, guidance and assistance, and cultural guidance and exchange, which provides a solid foundation for the training of applied talents in university.
The School is located in Hangzhou Gongchenqiao Campus of Zhejiang Shuren University. Its current office address is at Building 11, Venture Industrial Park, Hangzhou Campus. There are currently 5 faculty members. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship will insist on guiding entrepreneurship through innovation and promoting employment through entrepreneurship, with the core of improving the quality of talent training, further strengthening the connotation construction, and improving the operating mechanism. Focusing on popularizing innovation and entrepreneurship education, and on the basis of establishing a practice platform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, the School will further optimize the innovation and entrepreneurship work system, gather innovation and entrepreneurship education resources inside and outside the university, and coordinate the strength of various speciality schools. It will actively explore innovative and entrepreneurial talent training models with outstanding characteristics of Shuren University under the background of new engineering, new medical, new business, new agricultural and new liberal arts, and will also comprehensively promote the implementation of various policies and measures for innovation and entrepreneurship in the school and the university, integrate innovation and entrepreneurship education throughout the entire process of talent training, in order to consolidate the three major innovation and entrepreneurship talent systems of "education and teaching, practice incubation, and guidance service", and realize "the integration of innovation and entrepreneurship, of specialty and entrepreneurship, and of disciplines."
About the Dean
Dr. Feng Guo is the Dean of College of Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Previously, Dr. Guo was Managing Partner & Head of Financial Research Institute at Silicon Paradise Asset Management Group Co. in Hangzhou. Guo also worked respectively as the Chief Representative of Asia Pacific at Institute of International Finance (IIF) in Washington DC, Associate Research Professor at Northern Kentucky University,Economist with The Conference Board in New York City. Guo has published numerous research reports and peer-reviewed academic papers on financial markets and economic developments. Guo obtained Ph.D. in economics from the City University of New York and M.A. from Rissho University in Japan.
