On the afternoon of March 14, President Li Lu led a team to visit the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prof. Teng Jinguang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and President of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and the leaders of the Faculty of Engineering, the Business School, the Academy for Interdisciplinary Research, and the Mainland Development Office of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University attended the meeting.

At the meeting, President Teng Jinguang gave a detailed introduction to President Li Lu and other visitors on the development history of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and its efforts made on realizing the development vision of "being determined to become a leading university in exploring and transferring knowledge, providing quality whole-person education, and contributing to Hong Kong, the country and the world". Especially in curriculum reform, the university advocates the interdisciplinary education of science, technology, and humanities, and attaches importance to students' innovation and entrepreneurship education. He said that the Hong Kong Polytechnic University would cooperate with Zhejiang Shuren University to jointly benefit Hong Kong, the country, and the world by inspiring innovative ideas, promoting sustainable development, enhancing economic outcomes, and improving community life.

On behalf of our university, President Li Lu expressed his gratitude to President Teng Jinguang for being invited to give an academic lecture at Zhejiang Shuren University on December 28, 2017, and guiding the discipline construction of civil engineering of our university. He pointed out, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University ranked the 5th youngest university in the world by Times Higher Education in 2022 and the 65th in the QS World University Rankings in 2023, in which 201 faculty members were listed among the top 2% of scientists in the world, took the leading position in the fields of tourism and leisure management, civil engineering and building construction, and was an example for us to follow. President Li introduced the work of our university in discipline construction, talent training, team construction and international cooperation since 2017, as well as the new vision of the interdisciplinary development of medicine, engineering, liberal art and science, driven by the construction of new medicine in the future. He hoped that President Teng and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University would continue to offer strong support to the future development of our university, especially in the academic visits of young doctors, and the discipline construction of civil engineering, architecture and others. On behalf of Shuren University, he also welcomed the young students and teachers of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to visit our university for communication, and to jointly promote high-quality development.

After the meeting, President Li Lu and other visitors also visited the 3D Printing Technology Research Laboratory of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
